The Broken Pot
By Joanna Thorpe Millward
Isaiah 64:8. We are broken pots, being worked by the Lord’s hands.
Unlike a mechanic, who -when a part of a machine is broken-takes out the broken part and puts in a new piece; The Lord Jesus reworks that broken part, that crack, with His own hands.
He cleanses it with water, softening and stretching it, until the clay is ready for reworking Eph 5:25.
Then He meticulously works it into His own creation; what was once a crack, deep, weak and one jolt away from breaking completely, is now fashioned in the likeness of it’s creator. Smooth, shiny and shaped for its individual purpose. He puts it through the fire of the kiln, to strengthen it,to make it durable! 1Peter 1:17
He puts his seal upon it-imprinted into its base is the name of the one who redeemed it and paid a great price for this broken pot! 2Corinth 1:22
Its creator is jealous for it and will not share it with another. Ex34:14
Now the pot fills and empties by the hand of its creator! Not a drop escapes- or is wasted- for its walls are water tight. Psalm 23,Eph 3:19
It stands on a solid foundation- so should the ground around it, shake or shift-that pot will not be moved. It will stand…
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found was blind but now I see.
